Based on your date of birth and years of railroad service, the
Retirement Planner will display the eligibility date and estimated
amount of a reduced and full age and service annuity.
Please note, however, that the actual annuity beginning date may not begin before
the last day of railroad service.
1. Employees with 10 (120 months) to 29 (359 months) years of service; and,
employees with 5 (60 months) to 9 (119 months) years of service, if at least 60 months were after 1995:
A. Reduced - They are eligible for a reduced annuity the first
full month they are age 62. The annuity beginning date would usually
be effective with the month following the birthday month. |
Exception:
For those born on the first or second, the annuity beginning date is
effective with the birthday month. |
B. Full - They are eligible for an unreduced annuity if the
annuity begins with or after the full retirement age month. |
Exception: If an employee with 5 to 9 years of service has a date of
entitlement to an age reduced Social Security Benefit, the Tier 1
amount is reduced even though the annuity begins with or after the
full retirement age month. |
2. Employees with 30 (360 months) or more years of service:
They are eligible for a full annuity the first full month they
are age 60. The annuity beginning date would usually be effective
with the month following the birthday month. |
Exception:
For those born on the first or second, the annuity beginning
date is effective with the birthday month. Please note that
if your earliest eligibility date was before the current
month, the Retirement Planner will display the current month
as the earliest annuity beginning date. |
